Setting

One early morning I was investigating a new area that I just moved into. I turned and saw the sun gazing at a shaggy, old school. I decided to look inside. I was feeling a bit anxious. The chairs were all rusty and old. The walls were frightfully scary. I slowly walked to the blackboard, it had writing on it saying “you  are now cursed forever". I tried to rub it off but all that came off was dust. I tried to get up but nothing would work. Then suddenly I heard my alarm go off then finally I woke up. “That was a bad dream I don’t want to move any more” I said to myself.

Term 3 reflection

This term we've been doing a lot of fun things such as our assembly, making tapa’s, cross country and so much more.

Guess what happened a few weeks ago we had…… PRODUCTION
it was awesome. The group I was in was the Pacific group. We had to perform a tongan dance which is called a tau olunga and the samoan people had to do a samoan dance.Performing was a lot of fun.
But we all were a bit nervous when we had to perform in front of a lot of people.

The next best thing I loved was cross country I had a lot of fun. I was racing with the nine year olds we had to run 1500 metres it was tyring. But guess what happened I came 5th then I went to interschools it was cool I met some friends that use to come to vardon. I saw some people from last year when I went to cross country.

The next thing that I thought was awesome was…… OUR ASSEMBLY
we had our assembly in week 4. Miss Woolf had to do a lot work e.g cutting out things, drawing things and also thinking of what we should do in the assembly. We also had to work hard by performing in front of everyone it was nerve racking. Our assembly had to be at least a minimum of 30 minutes. Our whole assembly was around 27 minutes. In the end it was awesome because we got to have lollipops and cookies. I know it’s it much but it is for me.

Then a few weeks after it was production and then speeches. There were a lot of amazing speeches such as Teryse’s, Rico’s, Eva’s and so much more. My speech was about my culture tonga and the things I talked about was about how we do our actions, what we wear and how we say some words in tongan. It was difficult for Miss Woolf to pick the people to go to the syndicate speech finals so it took her quite a while to do this. Finally she finished and announced the people that are to the syndicate speech  finals. They were…..Rico, Eva and Ashlyn

The last thing that I thought was SPECTACULAR! was making Tapa’s. It didn't take long to make our tapa. But we all thought it was hard to make our tapa.  Firstly  we had to draw a practise copy. Secondly we had to draw a publish copy then we had to die it and last of all let it dry. then we realised it  isn't that hard. I loved making the tapa because it was part of my culture and I haven't made one before. We all were surprised with what we ended up with. Thank you!

My multi colour poem

Red is dads face when he's angry.
Blue is the rain of cloud tears
Green is a lime hanging on a tree.
Orange is juicy like an orange.
Black is dark like petrol as my mum pours it into the car.

I AM THE PELICAN

3 days ago I was buffeted in a powerful extraordinary  powerful storm. I had a damaged wing with no feathers on it. I was found on a rocky beach shore by some friendly villagers. I was devastated when I discovered I couldn't fly. luckily the village people looked after me. They demonstrated how to fly by flapping their outstretched arms. Now it was my turn I thought flying might be exciting I'm going to give it a try. I sprinted and launched off I flapped my wings fast, up and away the sun was shining brightly on my outstretched wing. I felt magnificent. I was flying over the deep blue sea. I saw allot of snappers zooming past. I  landed back down on the beach shore I felt proud and exhausted. As I touched down on the boiling hot sand I felt extraordinary. The Islanders were jumping up and down cheering for me. I am a flying pelican now I can find my own colony and be together for ever once more.
